Sonic Blume

Sonic Blume is an indie/alternative band primarily based in Asbury Park, New Jersey and though you may not know them yet, they are definitely not new to the scene. I remember seeing this band for the first time at the now closed music venue, The Saint, in 2018. Since that first show, I have had the chance to see them many more times and every time they have put on a fantastic performance. 

Something they do exceptionally well for a band in their genre is write great music. I’ve heard the stereotype that indie music all sounds the same many times, and though this is an ideology that could be applied to any genre, and sometimes I agree with the sentiment, Sonic Blume still stands out, in my opinion. Some of my favorite songs are “Aubrey”, “All Things You Say”, and “Pink Boots”. Each song is catchy, has great structure and a lot of depth. All of these songs were released 4+ years ago and I still listen to them frequently.

Just last year they earned a spot at the hometown music festival, Sea Hear Now, opening the day with a set on the park stage. Playing a music festival of this size is a huge milestone for any band and it was especially special for them to book such a big gig in the town they grew up playing in. This is a great band to check out if you ever get the chance!
